Please post a response to one peer who chose a different video. Then watch (or view again) the video your peer reviewed. Base your responses on your peer’s review and your own thoughts about the same video.

In the response post, include the following:

· Comment on your peer’s synopsis.

· Do you feel it was complete – why/why not?

· What additional information about the video would you suggest?

· Locate, identify, and comment on the area of your peer’s chosen video you feel could have been explained better (in the video) and share your ideas for an alternate explanation.

· Discuss whether your area of concern in your peer’s chosen video is different than the area your peer shared.

· If the same, how does your alternate explanation differ from theirs?

For this week, I chose the slope-intercept video. This video explains how you can find the slope of a line with a slope-intercept equation. The slope-intercept equation is y=mx+b. In this equation, the “m” is the slope of the line, and the “b” is the y-intercept. The example given in the video is y=1/3x-2 so in this case the slope or ”m” is 1/3 and the y-intercept or ”b” is -2. Now on to how to graph this equation. We know that the y-intercept is -2 so on the y-axis, we put a dot on -2. As for the slope of 1/3, it means the change in y over the change in x. So that means that if we move 3 spaces on the x-axis then we have to move 1 space on the y-axis. We start at -2 because this is the y-intercept so from -2 we move 3 spaces horizontally because that is the x-axis, after moving 3 spaces we have to move one space vertically because that is the y-axis. After moving one space vertically, that is the next dot we will mark because that is a point on the graph. You just keep repeating a few times and then you draw a line through all the points and that is how you graph a slope-intercept equation.

The most important information I learned in this video is remembering the change in y over the change in x because if you don’t do this correctly then the points on the graph will not line up. I think the video explains the correct information about graphing a slope-intercept equation, but I think it could have done a few more examples because some people learn more when there is more than one example.
