Review the concept of “storm and stress” in adolescence (see Arnett, 1999) and provide a real-life example of an adolescent that either did or did not embody the “storm and stress” view. Your example can either be from your own life or what you have observed in someone else’s life. How do you think the presence or absence of “storm and stress” in adolescence has changed in the decades since Arnett’s article was written? Do you think adolescents experience more or less “storm and stress” in current times? What impact do you think increased technology use and social media have on current levels of “storm and stress” for adolescents?
