Overview:

For this assignment, you will choose a psychological disorder from the DSM-V, watch a movie of your choice in which a character exhibits behaviors of that psychological disorder, and create an engaging PowerPoint presentation through which you describe the character’s psychological symptoms (behaviors) that reflect the psychological disorder.

Instructions:

1. Choose a psychological disorder from the DSM-V (located in the Module 6 Learning resources folder).

2. Watch a movie of your choice in which a character exhibits behaviors of that psychological disorder.

· It might be helpful to review the
Psych Movie Website to find a movie. This website lists movies that are available through Prime Video, Netflix, IMDb, and other subscription streaming services.

·
You are not expected to rent or buy a movie for this assignment. If you do not have access to a subscription streaming service, you can watch the free clips presented on the
Movieclips YouTube channel.

3. Create and upload an engaging PowerPoint, which explains:

· The psychological disorder in the movie you watched.

· Name of the character and a brief summary of the movie.

· Mental and behavioral symptoms of the character in the movie.

· DSM-V criterion for the psychological disorder.

· How the character’s disorder’s symptoms impacted friends and family.

· The character’s means of coping with the disorder.

· Best forms of treatment for a person with this disorder.

· How the movie contributed to your understanding of disorders and their treatment.
