Dear Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost.
I am writing to appeal against my academic dismissal from Rocky Mountain University. I was not surprised, but very upset to receive a letter earlier this week informing me of my dismissal. I’m writing to you with the hope of being reinstated for the semester. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to explain my circumstances again.
I admit I had a very difficult fall 2023 semester and my writing suffered as a result and my grades suffered as a result. I don’t mean to make excuses for my academic violation, but I would like to explain a little more, when I started the course, it was all good till the person that was helping in picking and dropping the kids from school and activities left the house, thing got complicated with school, work and family. I was very distracted with the home situation and was unable to focus on my schoolwork alone, so I joint the other student in working together with school unfortunately for me my school was using Turnitin, but they were not using Turnitin, so they didn’t suffer any academic violation, again I’m not give any excuses to what I did. I understand now that I should have communicated with my professors better, or even drop while I can. I thought I could handle all these burdens, and I tried my best, but I was wrong. After the zoom meeting I tried as much as possible, but it was too late.
I will love to graduate with my Master degree with Rocky mountain University, and it would mean so much to me to graduate even though I spoke to some friends and same student and they said they have many other school but to me I will prefer to continue with rocky mountain university if I am reinstated, I will focus much better on my schoolwork, and manage my time more wisely and communicate better with my professors from now on if anything is going on. I asked my mom to come leave with me till a finish school without knowing that I was going to be dismissed.
Please understand that my academic violation led to my dismissal does not indicate that I am a bad student. Really, I’m a good student who took the wrong route. I hope you will give me a second chance. Thank you for considering this appeal.
