ABSTRACT
Social Media refers to websites and applications that enable users to share information, ideas, private messages, and other content, such as movies, with one another, or to participate in social networking. Among numerous social media sites utilized are Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Teenage contact nowadays would be impossible without social media. Because social media allows kids to create online personas that facilitate self-expression and allow them to interact with like-minded others, it has become an essential component of modern teen communication. It has also developed social networks that allow teenagers to establish new friendships Day, M., & Harry, B. (1999) interact with friends and family, and grow their social networks.
In addition, teenagers can share news, updates and information with their friends and followers in a timely and convenient manner. Teenagers now find amusement on social media through a variety of activities, including playing games, watching games, and skimming through memes. Gold, J. (2014). They have also been able to share images, films, and other types of content, which has assisted them in finding creative expression.
Through the use of social media teens have been able to stay informed with current events and issues (Plaisime, et al., 2020). This has helped them to have knowledge of the day-to-day running of events and activities.
Social media use has allowed teenagers to keep up with current affairs and issues. Knowing how events and activities are managed on a daily basis has been helpful to them.
Teens may now connect with like-minded people and spread awareness of social and political concerns by using social media, which has also emerged as a potent instrument for activism Teruelle, R. (2012).
