Proposed Method for Capstone Project

1) Submit a draft of your method section.

It will include your search information (databases, terms, etc.), your screening (inclusion and exclusion) criteria, and other headers appropriate to your study (e. g., populations of interest).

Provide links to 5-10 ADDITIONAL studies you have located that may be included in your review. They must all have been published within the last 10 years or have been replicated within 20 years. Submit your inclusion and exclusion criteria by listing them separately. You may use older references as long as you include newer ones.

2) Begin to create a “BOX SCORE” (< — click for sample) which is a type of table where you keep track of how many times variables are measured similarly and/or show outcomes with similar patterns.
For example, 6 out of 10 of your studies show that self-esteem is negatively related to existential dread. Indicate how many times these were negatively versus positively or not at all correlated in the various studies. Be sure to keep track by counting and detailing the findings.

Your table will include the authors (or full citation), the main variables of interest, IVs/DVs, and the major outcome discovered in the study you are reviewing.
This will assist you in organizing your thoughts, your paper, and your conclusions.
