Discuss two DNP Essential competencies and how a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared nurse who possesses/applies those competencies could positively impact the experience/clinical practice problem.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in administrative and organizational leadership, seeks to understand the driving forces of community health needs, creates new knowledge by translating evidence into practice and leads innovation and quality improvement initiatives (AACN, 2015). The DNP is positioned to identify emerging trends in our complex healthcare systems and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure safe, effective, timely, equitable and efficient care. Through scholarly knowledge and a foundation of scientific underpinnings, the DNP is equipped to synthesize evidence, translate theory into practice, and disseminate best practice solutions that effect change (AACN 2006).
